Oversee and manage the organization’s database infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
Develop and implement best practices for database design, deployment, and maintenance.
Lead a team of database administrators, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise.
Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions.
Design and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize database performance for applications and systems.
Conduct capacity planning and scalability assessments to meet current and future business needs.
Stay updated on the latest database technologies, trends, and best practices to recommend innovative solutions.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
6+ years of experience in database administration, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Expertise in database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or others. Hands-on experience in SQL Server administration for at least 3 years is a must.
Hands-on experience in SQL Server replications would be plus.
Strong knowledge of database architecture, clustering, and replication.
Experience with cloud-based database solutions (AWS or Google Cloud).
Proficiency in scripting languages for automation (e.g., Python, Shell, PowerShell).
In-depth understanding of database security, backup, and recovery processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and leadership abilities.
