Summary:

We are a top transportation company headquartered in Canada, currently seeking a skilled Financial Analyst to join our team. This is a remote position, presenting an excellent opportunity for qualified and experienced candidates to contribute meaningfully and make a lasting impact. The Financial Analyst will work closely with the business units and coordinate the data analyses into reporting and dashboards, highlighting profitability and efficiency and reviewing pricing, cost, returns, and collections. It requires deep knowledge of Financial Reporting, Management Reporting, and translating the data insights into reports for management consumption. Also, this role will work closely with the IT team. The role will also require coordination with the business units to obtain data and coordinate analysis of the management reports.

Responsibilities:

Analyze financial data and provide forecasting support.

Ability to manage large data sets from BI using Power BI, R (with packages such as tidyverse, duckdb, arrow, and openxlsx), and MySQL to build dashboards and translate data into actionable insights.

Organize data into accessible reports and perform various types of analysis using key metrics such as yearly growth, return on assets, and equity.

Create detailed functional requirements specifications, outlining problems and report solutions for the business.

Develop and maintain management, operations, and financial reports.

Review all non-legal pertinent information about prospective deals.

Analyze current and past financial data and performance.

Prepare reports and projections based on the analysis.

Establish and evaluate profit plans, cost, pricing, and shipments.

Identify trends in financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.

Coordinate with other members of the finance team to review financial information and forecasts.

Provide financial models and forecasting for the business units.

Coordinate, prepare, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.

Identify continuous improvement opportunities across the department and company, making recommendations and implementing process changes with the teams involved.

Manage, track, and report on all business units while measuring KPIs and problem-solving activities.

Prepare monthly intercompany/partnership invoices and reconciliations.

Collaborate with software architects to develop solutions that align with our Data Analytics strategy.

QA Testing of all reports following the established Technology Development Process.

Other duties as required.

Salary Range: 750 CAD - 1000 CAD
