Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and driven Embedded Developer to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for the independent development and enhancement of internal applications and the improvement of existing firmware. This is a key position where you will work autonomously to ensure the efficiency and advancement of embedded systems within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Firmware Development: Independently develop and enhance embedded firmware to meet internal application requirements.

Application Development: Contribute to the development and further enhancement of internal applications focused on embedded systems.

Optimization & Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve existing firmware to optimize performance, functionality, and reliability.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between hardware and software.

Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware-related issues in embedded systems.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear, concise documentation of development processes and improvements to ensure quality control and knowledge sharing.

Quality Assurance: Ensure the reliability and stability of firmware and applications through rigorous testing and debugging processes.

Qualifications:

Education: At least Bachelor’s in Electrical/Computer/Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering from a reputable university.

Experience: Strong hands-on experience in Firmware development, specifically with processor-oriented C/C++ programming for embedded Microcontrollers.

Electronics Knowledge: General understanding of electronics and embedded systems design.

Work Style: Self-motivated with an independent working style and the ability to manage multiple tasks with foresight and dedication.

Problem-Solving: Solution-oriented approach with the ability to identify and address challenges proactively.

Team Collaboration: Excellent ability to work within a team, contributing to collective success while also thriving independently.

Desired Skills & Experience:

Embedded Systems Expertise:

Arm Cortex-Mx Microcontrollers (preferably EFM32xx Series)

Low Level and Bare Metal Programming Skills in C/C++

Familiarity with SDK low level access and API implementations (Preferably Gecko/Simplicity SDK)

Experience with Peripheral Management (e.g. Timers, Clocks, ADCs, IRQs, Sleep Modes, DMA and Energy Management etc.).

Experience with Interface Programming (e.g. I2C, SPI, UART/USART, RTC, WDT, EEPROM, LCD etc.).

Working Knowledge of Communication Technologies (e.g. GSM, LTE, NB-IoT, Cat-M, BLE, LORAWAN etc.).

Experience in writing code for Protocols (e.g. MQTT, COAP, LwM2M etc.).

Hand on with writing/modifying bootloaders, and their security (e.g. Secure Boot, Secure Firmware Update, TLS/DTLS, Encryption etc.).

Familiarity version control systems (e.g. Git).

Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, especially in a remote working environment.

Continuous Improvement: Passion for continuous learning and improvement, staying updated with the latest trends in embedded systems and firmware development.
